Welcome/Bienvenue

On behalf of the staff of École Bishop Savaryn Catholic School, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school community. We are a dual track school, offering both English Programming for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, and French Immersion Programming for students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Each year we continue to add a new grade level to our French Immersion Program.

We are a Catholic and child-centered community committed to our children. They are at the heart of our service and we strive to work closely together as a student, staff and parent community to ensure that each child at École Bishop Savaryn Catholic School will be encouraged to achieve his/her academic best in a Christian learning environment which is supportive, challenging and empowering.

As is represented by the mosaic pieces that make up our school logo, we recognize and celebrate the many dimensions of our school which together, contribute towards making our school dynamic and progressive, placing student learning as the priority. We believe that the collective effort of the members of our school community is paramount and contributes towards the education of the whole child.

“Faith, learning, peace and joy” are keynotes of our school’s philosophy. Our school’s liturgical celebrations, living our core values through the 8 Charaters of Catholic Education and our dedicated staff are just a few of the many ways in which we ensure that your children are surrounded with a climate that is focused on learning and respect for one another and their surroundings.

École Bishop Savaryn School maintains high standards of academics and discipline. We have very high expectations of our students and we provide them with the tools necessary to experience success on spiritual, academic and social levels.

As parents, you have an essential role to play in the educational development of your children. Research indicates that parents who are involved in their child’s academic life contribute greatly to their child’s progress in school. We welcome your input and encourage your participation as we work in partnership together to best meet the learning needs of your children. This can be done in a number of ways; through regular volunteering in daily or special event activities such as, classroom assistance, one to one reading with children, the hot lunch program, fieldtrip assistance, or involvement with the school council.

Together, we can achieve great success as we work towards making École Bishop Savaryn Catholic School the best possible learning environment for our students.

·      Did you know that it takes the interaction of 72 different muscles to produce human speech?                                                         You can help your child speak more clearly by repeating what your child says and emphasizing his/her error sound.                     Don’t expect your child to repeat what you have said.  What is important is that your child hears the correct sound.
